A strong data analyst CV shows three things quickly: the tools you use, the kinds of data and business questions you have worked with, and what changed because of your analysis. Lead with a short personal statement, list your technical skills precisely, and write bullet points that connect each piece of work to a decision or an improvement.
This example follows UK conventions: two pages at most, British spelling and a personal statement at the top.

How to write your data analyst CV
- Name tools and what you do with them. 'SQL (window functions, CTEs)' is more useful than 'SQL'.
- End bullets with the outcome: the decision made, the time saved or the process changed. Use figures only where you can explain them.
- Mention the scale and type of data, such as transaction volumes, number of sources or reporting frequency.
- Link to a portfolio or code repository if you have one, particularly early in your career.
- Mirror the job advert's wording for tools and techniques so that recruiters searching for them find you.
UK CV or US resume?
The job title is the same in both countries. For a US application, call the document a resume, keep it to one page if you have under ten years or so of experience, switch to American spelling such as 'optimization' and 'analyzed', and replace the personal statement with a shorter summary.
